Our sincere feeling is that meditation is a universal tool to greater happiness, peace and satisfaction and that anyone can do it. The Lotus-Heart is owned and operated by the Sri Chinmoy Centre , a global organisation that offers free meditation classes to communities the world over so that people everywhere can enjoy their own journey of self discovery. The Sri Chinmoy Centre was founded by Indian-born spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy as an opportunity for his students to meditate together, and also to awaken their true potential through music, athletics, art and many other fields of human endeavour. There are over Sri Chinmoy Centres located in 50 countries throughout the world. Members are drawn from different races and cultures, from all religions and none, forming a true global family. They share a common aspiration to live an active outer life based on an inner life of meditation, prayer and dedicated service to humanity.
About Sri Chinmoy
It is open to all and there is no age limit to attend the classes. The classes are facilitated by local Sahaja Yoga practitioners, who will take you through the basic meditation and balancing techniques that you can easily practice at home without much interruption to your daily routines. No prior physical exercise, diet or special clothing is required.

This event is a weekly drop in class. Each class consists of a guided meditation and a talk based on Buddhist wisdom. Classes are suitable for everyone. Join in any week, booking is not required.

Meditation Christchurch is a service of the Christchurch Sri Chinmoy Centre which provides learn-to-meditate programmes free of charge to the community. Our structured meditation courses introduce a broad range of effective meditation techniques with the aim of inspiring participants to develop a successful and progressive daily meditation practice at home. Following our introductory classes, we offer free continuation programmes to further deepen the meditation experience. The Sri Chinmoy Centre also provides a variety of sports events, cultural activities and concerts.
